Koichi possesses over 30 years of extensive experience in management consulting and business development within the healthcare and life science industries. He is currently the President of Prescient Corporation, a boutique advisory and consulting firm he established in 2015. His work there includes providing strategic advice to US medical device companies for Japanese market entry, supporting global clinical studies, and serving as a business development and caretaker for UK CDMOs for over 11 years.
Before founding Prescient Corporation, Koichi co-founded Maverick Transnational Inc. in 2001, serving as its President for 15 years. In this role, he led regulatory strategy, market entry, and business development initiatives for various international clients, including US medical device companies and UK start-ups.
His career began in 1977 as a chemical engineer at Showa Denko K.K. He then spent seven years at Boston Consulting Group in Tokyo, engaging in diverse projects across healthcare, technology, and consumer products. Subsequently, he dedicated seven years to Johnson & Johnson K.K., where he was instrumental in business development and technology transfer for medical devices, including preparing a new start-up and identifying Japanese technologies for US transfer.
