Robert Scherini is the past Area Manager, International for Johnson & Johnson and Managing Director for Johnson & Johnson Medical Australia and New Zealand . A successful and seasoned line manager and business leader with some 40 years experience, including 13 years as Chief Executive Officer, managing diversified healthcare companies in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe Rob has held positions with direct responsibility and accountability across all facets of business including Finance, Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Operations & Supply Chain, Legal, Human Resources and Information Technology. He has a strong track record of consistently growing businesses and meeting/exceeding annual plans and people development..
Rob is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and was a Member of the Board of the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) for nine years including a term of four years as Vice Chairman. He also acted as Chair for the DASH Study a major initiative (involving all stakeholders) that reviewed the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply of medical devices and supplies to the Australian Hospital Sector. In 2006, he was appointed to the Strategic Industry Leaders Group for the Medical Devices Action Agenda by the Hon Ian MacFarlane MP, the then Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources.
He has significant Board experience having Chaired and served on a number of Boards during his time at J&J.
Rob has been a strong advocate of Human Resources Strategy and was recognised as Best HR Champion at the 2004 Australian HR Awards In 2007 he was awarded Paul Harris Fellowship by Rotary International in recognition of assistance to the community.
Most recently he has devoted his time to consulting and mentoring; appointments as: Deputy Chairman of a Not For Profit Aged Care Group; a member of the Board for a large private company operating in the Health care sector; a member of the Executive Advisory Council for the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at UTS; as well as his role as Visiting Industry Fellow at the Australian Graduate School of Management.
