Shuichi Matsunaga, a veteran in the Japanese medical device industry with over 38 years of experience, retired as Executive Vice President of DePuy Group on December 31, 2010, after 30 months in the role. During his tenure, he also served on the board of J&J Medical Japan and the Global Management Board of DePuy Worldwide.

Matsunaga’s expertise spans numerous critical areas, including infection prevention, wound management, vascular access, minimally invasive surgery, diabetes management, and orthopaedics. He also possesses experience in ophthalmology and dialysis.

His influential career includes serving on the Executive Committee of ACCJ (2004-2007) and holding positions as a Visiting Professor at Tokyo Health Care University and a board member of the Japan Medical Device Association. He is also the past Chairman of RAPS Japan. Matsunaga holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature from Kanagawa University.
